Resonance Room Interview

Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days/

At present we are reharsing for live shows with the new members of the band Gaetano Ronsisvalle (drums) and Antonello Condorelli (second guitar). We are planning some gigs for this summer.

How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it differs from previous releases?

This new release includes  wider influences than our previous release, which was more traditionally gothic doom – sounding.  Although it is not truly an experimental work – we have kept giving a great importance to melodies -  it sounds really ‘modern’  .We are very satisfied with the outcome.

What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new album?

The Lyrics talk about loss, religion, insanity, precariousness, suicide in the contemporary context. With Prometheus, based on the homonymous literary work of Lord Byron, and "Outside the maze", which is freely inspired by the myth of Icarus, We address these issues in a mythological key.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

It has no special meaning, we simply liked the sound of it J

5. I know that the band started out as Fragment what was the decision behind the name change?

First of all many of the original members of the band have left, so this is actually a new band compared with Fragment... another important reason is that while checking  on the Internet we found out that there were other bands named in the same way... not really original ....

What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

So far our more rewarding performance has been the one with Vision Bleak and  Alcest ... it was really a great feeling to play with two bands we like and support.

7. Do you have any touring plans for the future?

We are currently working on it... no confirmed dates yet.

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of metal?

I would say very good; although we haven’t had the chance to perform live shows abroad so far, the sales of our first cd were satisfactory if we think of the present  crisis.

9. What is going on with the other musical projects these days?

Nothing, as our present priority is Resonance room.

10. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

Difficult question... we will try to give our music a more and more personal expression, although you can never foresee the future...

11. What are some of the bands or musical styles that have influenced your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

I could tell you we listen to all kinds of music, from Gothic Rock to Death metal, but not all of these influences are evident in our music. The ones we presently recognize as truly influential are bands such as Katatonia, Gojira,.Paradise Lost,  Pain of Salvation and Evergrey .

12. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

We love sport,  travelling, beer and whisky    ... and pussy of course J

13. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

We worked on these new songs with all the passion we could feel... we hope all the emotions we felt during the making of the new songs will be transmitted to our fans. Thank you , hope to play in your town soon, wherever it is in the world!!!
