Resonance Room are a band from Italy that plays dark gothic metal with elements of prog, doom, death and black metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Untouchable Failure" which was released by My Kingdom Music.
Drums range from slow to mid paced drumming with no fast playing or blast beats being present on this recording, while the synths bring a dark, atmospheric and gothic sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combine prog, gothic and doom metal to create a sound of their own with a great amount of dark sounding melodies being thrown into the riffing as well as some soft and clean playing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding progressive metal guitar solos and leads along with a brief use of guitar slides, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and full chords to add more progressive elements to the music.
Vocals are mostly clean singing with some spoken word parts being used at times as well as some more aggressive parts and the screams and growls of early releases are absent from this recording, while the lyrics cover dark themes with a touch of Greek Mythology, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy, dark and professional sound where you can h ear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with the last song being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Resonance Room are a very great sounding dark gothic metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cages Of Dust" "New Life" "Prometheus" and "Faded". RECOMMENDED BUY.
