Nudist are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of sludge, doom, post metal, psychedelic and noise and this is a review of t heir 2015 album "See the Light Beyond The Spiral" which was released by Dio Drone.
Radio static sounds start off the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later which leads up to a heavier sludge metal direction which also mixes in death metal style growls and screams and you can also hear a lot of atmospheric elements throughout the recording along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and t he songs also incorporate a great amount of melody and high pitched screams and you can also hear a lot of post hardcore elements through most of the album and when solos and leads are utilized they give the songs more of a melodic post metal feeling and as the album progresses a small amount of acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with some elements of drone and noise.
Nudist takes the heaviness of sludge, doom and death metal and mixes it with the melody of both the post metal and hardcore genres and also brings in elements of noise, drone and psychedelia to create an original style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Nudist are a very great sounding mixture of sludge, doom, post metal, psychedelic and noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Concealed Underground" and "Suicide". 8 out of 10.
