Primitiv are a band from India that plays an old school mixture of doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Immortal & Vile" which was released by Transcending Obscurity Distribution.
A very dark futuristic sound starts off the album along with some demonic vocals and symphonic sounds and after the intro the music starts adding in a very old school doom metal sound along with some death metal growls a few seconds later and the riffs also bring in elements of groove into some parts of the songs.
When guitar solos and leads are added into the music they bring in a very melodic sound to the recording and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the album and the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 80's and early 90's but with a more modern production/
Some tracks also bring in a small amount of spoken word samples and after awhile screams are brought onto the recording and they also bring in one track that is long and epic in length which introduces clean playing onto the album which is also utilized again later on and all of the songs stick either to a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Primitiv plays a style of death metal t hat goes back to the mid 80's and early 90's while also adding in a touch of proto doom, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Science Fiction, Dystopia, and Fantasy themes.
In my opinion Primitiv are a very great sounding old school mixture of doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Clash of the Gods" "Lake Rancid" and "Lords Of Primitiv". 8 out of 10.
