Drift Into Black are a solo project from New York with a member from Grey Skies Fallen that plays a mixture of experimental, dark rock and atmospheric doom metal and this is a review of his self released 2017 ep "Shadow People".
Tragic sounding keyboards start off the ep along with some clean vocals a few seconds later while the melodic riffing also takes the music into more of a heavier musical direction along with some of the tracks being very long and epic in length as well as capturing the heaviness of doom metal.
At times the music gets very atmospheric while the music also brings in elements of dark rock as well as some depressive melodies along with the music also bringing in influences and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and after awhile growls and screams can also be heard in certain sections of the recording, all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction and as the ep progresses a brief use of stringed instruments can also be heard.
Drift Into Black takes experimental, dark rock and atmospheric doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while t he lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
