France's Autokrator have returned with a new recording which continues their mixture of industrial, drone, death, sludge and doom metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Hammer Of Heretics" which will be released in April by Krucyator Productions.
Melodic yet heavy riffing starts off the album along with some chaotic guitar leads while the slower sections of the songs are heavily influenced by doom metal as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Vocals are mostly deep yet guttural death metal growls while the drum beats are mostly programmed and give the music a touch of industrial along with some of the solos and leads also bringing in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length as well as some songs bringing in atmospheric drones, movie samples and tortured voices and you can also hear the heaviness of sludge in some of the guitar riffing.
On this recording Autokrator bring s in more of a raw and brutal style of death metal while elements of sludge, drone, doom metal and industrial are still brought into the music, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover oppression and history themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Autokrator and if you are a fan of death, sludge, doom metal, sludge and industrial, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Against Flesh And Blood" and "Hammer Of The Heretics". 8 out of 10.
