Necrovorous are a band from Greece that plays a very brutal from of dark death metal with a doom metal edge and this is a review of their 2011 album "Funeral For The Sane" which was released by Pulverised Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a good amounts of blast beats, while the synths which are only used on the intro and briefly on a couple of songs have a very dark and evil feel to them, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhthym guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast death metal riffs that are also influenced by doom metal with some melodies being used at times, while the lead guitars are very distorted sounding death metal guitar leads.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitched screams being thrown in at times, while the lyrics cover gore themes with somewhat of a dark and occult edge, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and professional feel to it.
In my opinon Necrovorous are a very good old school sounding death metal band with a doom metal edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Succubus Dormotory" "The Vilest Of All Dreams" "Deathkneels" and "Funeral For The Sane". RECEMMONDED BUY.
