The Atrocity Exhibition are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of sludge, crust and grindcore and this is a review of their self titled 2015 7 Inch which was released by Wooaaargh.
A very fast and distorted noise/grind starts off the ep along with some high pitched screams and brutal blast beats as well as some crust style vocals being utilized at times as well as being mixed in with the growls and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some melodies being used at times.
Spoken word samples can be heard in certain sections of the recording while the slower sections of the music bring in a heavy dose of sludge and doom metal and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and all of the songs are very short in length with the longest one being close to 3 minutes.
The Atrocity Exhibition plays a musical style that mixes the speed and brutal grindcore and crust in with the slower sections of sludge and doom metal to create some very raw, heavy and aggressive music, the production sounds very raw yet powerful at the same time while the lyrics cover violent, hateful, and angry themes.
In my opinion The Atrocity Exhibition are a very great sounding mixture of sludge, crust and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "God Shines On Fools" "The Value Of Nothing" and "Violent World". 8 out of 10.
