Infinite Waste are a band from Oakland, California that plays a mixture of doom metal and grindcore and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "Ghost Town".
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album and you can hear elements of crust, sludge, doom metal and grindcore in their musical style along with some blast beats and a mixture of screams and growls and the band also bring s in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts throughout the recording.
There is a great amount of heaviness in the bands musical style and they also add melody into certain sections of the recording and some of the faster sections sees the band adding in thrash and d beat influences to the aggressive crust/grind side of the bands musical style while their doomier side is the heaviest part of this ep and you can also hear a small amount of hardcore in the bands musical sound at times and the bass guitars dominate certain sections of the last track.
Infinite Waste takes the darker and heavier side of doom metal and mixes it with the raw aggression and speed of grindcore to create a sound of their own, the production has a very dark, raw and heavy sound while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Infinite Waste are a very great sounding mixture of doom metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Medical Waste" and "Witch Burner". 8 out of 10.
