Ommadon are a band from Scotland that plays a very raw and instrumental form of drone/doom metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "V" which will be released by Domestic Genocide.
Distorted drone sounds start off the album and a few seconds later slow, dark and heavy doom metal guitar riffs and drums are added into the music which also bring in elements of sludge and you can also hear some noises being utilized in the background along with the first track being close to 50 minutes in length.
After a few minutes of playing the same riff over and over again the riffing starts to change a bit while also remaining in a pure doom metal direction and after 30 minutes the drones start sounding a lot more powerful, the second track starts out with some distorted drone noises which are all mixed in with some riffing that has a very dark and melodic feeling to them and after awhile the music starts getting very heavy again.
Ommadon sticks to a very slow and heavy sound throughout the album while also bringing in drones at times which makes their instrumental music sound a lot more darker and the production has a very dark and heavy sound to it.
In my opinion Ommadon are a very great sounding instrumental drone/doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "VI". 8 out of 10.
