Enemy Of Reality are a band that plays a very symphonic form of metal with some progressive touches and this is a review of their 2014 album "Rejected Gods" which was released by F.Y.B Records.
A very symphonic sounding intro starts off the album along with some operatic vocals and you can also hear a lot of classical music element s in the bands musical sound and after the intro the music goes into more of a melodic, modern, and heavy gothic metal direction which they also mix in with the symphonic sounds.
There is a good mixture of symphonic, clean heavy, slow and mid paced parts throughout the recording and the solos and leads the band uses bring in a great amount of power metal influences onto the recording along with the synths also mixing progressive rock in with more classical orientated style of synth playing.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and at times you can also hear a little bit of speed and thrash metal in the heavier side of the guitar riffing on some of the tracks along with a small amount of black and death metal vocals as well as a few seconds of blast beats and as the album progresses male back up choirs are added onto some of the songs.
Enemy Of Reality plays a very modern form of symphonic and gothic metal with their musical sound which they also mix in with classical music and progressive rock to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
In my opinion Enemy Of Reality are a very great sounding symphonic/gothic metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "My Own Master" "Her Descending Ghost" "The bargaining" and "Twist Of Time". 8 out of 10.
