Extreme Cold Winter are a band from the Netherlands that plays a mixture of doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Paradise Ends Here" ehich will be rleeased on November 30th by Vic Records.
a very distorted amp sound starts off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds later that also takes the music into more of a doom/death metal direction and the riffs also use a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and after awhile growling vocals start becoming a huge part of all of the tracks.
All of the songs are very heavily rooted in an early 80's style of doom/death metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when solos and leads are utilized they bring in a very melodic and depressive feeling to the recording and a couple of tracks are very long and epic in length and as the album progresses high pitched screams can be heard at times.
Extreme Cold Winter plays a style of doom/death metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's and also manages to keep everything in a very slow yet always heavy musical direction, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Extreme Cold Winter are a very great sounding mixture of doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Warriors Of The Wasteland" and "Once Liquid Waters". 8 out of 10.
