Darkest Amber are a band from Brazil that plays a mixture of doom, goth and death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Every Sun Fades" which was released as a joint effort between Wolfshade Records and Narcoleptica Productions.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the screams add in a touch of black metal along with the slower sections of the songs being heavily rooted in doom metal as well as the riffs also getting very melodic at times and when the music speeds up blast beats can also be heard.
Death metal growls can also be heard at times while most of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them as well as the solos and leads bringing in more of a classic metal approach and as the album progresses clean playing, acoustic guitars and melodic male and female vocals can be heard in certain sections of the recording and also add in more of a gothic touch, the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Darkest Amber plays a musical style that takes death, doom and gothic metal and mixes them together along with some elements of black metal to create a sound of their own while also avoiding the use of keyboards or synths which is present in most bands of this genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Darkest Amber are a very great sounding mixture of doom, death and gothic metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Who Decides" "Lifeless" and "Cold". 8 out of 10.
