Tombtoker are a band from Baltimore, Maryland that plays a mixture of stoner, sludge, doom metal and noise rock and this is a review of their 2018 ep "Coffin texts" which will be released in December as a joint effort between Seeing Red Records and Metal Swarm.
A very dark and heavy doom metal sound starts off the ep while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in melody at times as well as the vocals bringing in a mixture of sludge style screams and death metal growls.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in more of a stoner metal style while elements of hardcore punk and noise rock can also be heard at times along with some d beats also being utilized when the music speeds up a little bit but the main focus is more on a slow or mid tempo direction.
Tombtoker plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in stoner, sludge and doom metal while also mixing in some hardcore punk and noise rock influences to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
