Dawn Of Eternity are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of melodic death and gothic metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Guilty" which was released by NRT Records.
Dark sound effects and clean guitars start off the album along with some spoken word parts and melodic female vocals that bring in the gothic elements before going into a heavier direction with high pitched screams that have a black metal feeling to them and they mix in with the clean singing and there is also a great amount of melody in both the riffs and leads.
You can hear a lot of melodic doom/death metal elements in the bands musical style which also bring s in growls at times and there is also a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts present throughout the recording along with a decent amount of blast beats and some of the tracks also add in more of a modern metal sound as the album progresses.
Later on during the recording acoustic guitars are added into certain sections of the recording along with a couple of power ballads and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and a good portion of the later tracks bring in more of a traditional gothic metal sound while still having its roots in death metal and the last 4 songs are bonus tracks taken from their 2010 ep which have the same style of the full length but done with more of a raw approach.
Dawn Of Eternity plays a very modern style of gothic metal that is a lot more aggressive and guitar driven than most bands of this genre and they also mix it in with the heaviness, growls and screams of melodic death metal to create their own sound, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover sadness and tragedy themes.
In my opinion Dawn Of Eternity are a very great sounding mixture of gothic and melodic death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ego" Sing For Me" "You Suck" and "My God, My Foe". 8 out of 10.
