Boar are a band from Finland that has had an album reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a psychedelic mixture of stoner and doom metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Posedian" which was released by Lost Pilgrim Records.
Psychedelic sounds start off the album before adding in some dark yet heavy riffing which also captures the heaviness of sludge and doom metal while the vocals bring in a mixture of clean singing, growls and screams along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic stoner metal style while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with some tracks also adding clean guitars onto the recording and as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars can also be heard and the music always sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction.
On this recording Boar takes psychedelic, stoner and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own while also mixing in the heaviness of sludge and death metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Boar and if you are a fan of psychedelic, stoner and doom metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shahar's Son" and "Dark Skies". 8 out of 10.
