Haarp/Husks/Housecore/2012 CD Review

Haarp  are  a  band  from  New  Orleans,  Louisiana  that  plays  sludge/doom  metal  with  influences  from    death  metal  and  hardcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "Husks"  which  was  released  by  Housecore.

Drums range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  drumming  with  not  much  in  the  way  of  fast  playing  and  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  sludge/doom  metal  riffs  that  combine  the  heaviness  of  death  metal  with  some  influences  from  hardcore  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  present   on  this  recording.

Vocal  range  from  deep  death  metal  growls,  high  pitched  screams  and  hardcore  style  vocals,  while the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  nature  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  with  the  songs  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Haarp  are  a  very  great  sounding  sludge/doom  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style  of  music,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Deadman/Rabbit".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
